Idaho Fish and Game is stocking thousands of rainbow trout across the region this July, creating more opportunities for anglers to get outdoors and enjoy Idaho’s waters.
Across the state, more than 110,000 catchable-sized trout are being released into rivers, lakes, and ponds—many of them in Southeast and Eastern Idaho locations that are easily accessible and family-friendly.
These efforts do more than support recreation. They help drive tourism, increase visitation to local communities, and support small businesses tied to outdoor activity—from gear shops to lodging and dining.
Outdoor recreation continues to be a key economic driver and a major quality-of-life asset that helps Eastern Idaho attract and retain a strong workforce.
For REDI, it’s another example of how investments in recreation and natural resources contribute to long-term regional growth and competitiveness.
