Mountain America Center Announces Partnerships With Local School Districts and the College of Eastern Idaho for Graduation Ceremonies

Idaho Falls, ID – As graduation season is upon us, the Mountain America Center is thrilled to announce partnerships with local school districts and the College of Eastern Idaho (CEI) to host several high school and college commencement ceremonies at the end of the school year. Idaho Falls School District #91, Bonneville School District #93, Shelley High School, and CEI will all be holding their graduations at Hero Arena inside the Mountain America Center over the next several years.

Representatives from each district and school are enthusiastic about their multi-year partnerships with the venue:

"We are excited to start holding our high school graduation ceremonies at the Mountain America Center. Our graduates will now be able to celebrate this special milestone with all their family members, mentors and special guests, and this state-of-the-art facility will allow us to make these celebrations more special than ever." - Dr. Jim Shank, Superintendent, Idaho Falls School District #91

“Shelley High School is excited to partner with Mountain America Center and Hero Arena to hold graduation for the class of 2023. The opportunity will allow us to hold graduation away from our hot and limited seating gymnasium, as well as permit a state-of-the-art venue that we hope our graduates and patrons will remember forever, super excited!" – Burke Davis, Principal of Shelley High School

“The last few years have been really interesting with COVID and the different approaches we had to take with graduations. We have had them at some unique locations, like the drive-in, Melaleuca Field, and Sandy Downs. Having it at a central location where we can hold all our high school graduations in a venue that will fit all the family members that students want to invite, in an air-conditioned building, in a great local venue, that’s really exciting for us.” – Dr. Scott Woolstenhulme, Superintendent, Bonneville School District #93

"CEI is excited to be holding our commencement and nurse pinning ceremony at the area’s premier event venue, the Mountain America Center! We are delighted to hold a unified event for our graduates, which they can invite several loved ones to, now that we have a convenient venue in Idaho Falls that can host a large audience. We are also incredibly thankful for generous financial support from Mountain View Hospital and Idaho Falls Community Hospital that is allowing us to utilize this fantastic facility. “ Rick Aman, CEI President

“As we all know, graduation is an extremely proud moment for students and their families. The Mountain America Center is a facility that is proud to have the capability to host unforgettable events like these, “says the facility’s General Manager, Erik Hudson. “For our venue just to be a part of these lifelong memories in such a way is outstanding for the building and our staff. Providing an environment that graduates can be proud to take the stage was an important piece for us to be involved and fulfill our mission. We are grateful to all the local schools and CEI for allowing us to be a part of these community-driven events. What an honor!” – Erik Hudson, Mountain America Center General Manager
