Ball Ventures Ahlquist (BVA) of Meridian broke ground on July 15 on a 150,000-square-foot office building at the firm’s Eagle View Landing mixed-use development in Meridian, which is at the southeast corner of the Interstate 84/Eagle Road interchange. The Boise-area office of POWER Engineers will occupy 120,000 of the 150,000 square feet of the new structure that will be branded as the POWER Engineers building.

Eagle View Landing is a 73-acre mixed-used development. The site already hosts over 350,000 square feet of class A office and retail space and will also include two hotels and almost 400 multifamily housing units.

POWER Engineers is a consulting engineering and environmental firm with 45 offices throughout the United States and three in Canada. In Idaho, POWER has offices in Treasure Valley and in Hailey. The firm employs over 3,000 people. Over 500 will work out of the new building once it is completed. The general contractor for the project is Engineered Structures Inc. (ESI) of Meridian.

“With such a prominent, nationally respected and renowned company like POWER joining the site, Eagle View Landing is quickly becoming a landmark development in the Treasure Valley,” said Tommy Ahlquist, CEO of BVA, in a statement. “We could not be more pleased to have POWER join ICCU, Topgolf and Kiln as a major anchor tenant to the site.”

“We’re excited to see the office take shape,” said Jim Haynes, POWER’s president and CEO, in a statement. “The planning process has been hugely collaborative, bringing together all of our team members to share their visions of the type of office they’d enjoy coming into. We’re looking forward to seeing their ideas become a reality.”

Neil Nelson, president of ESI, said, “ESI is proud to be chosen as BVA’s partner to construct another new office building at Eagle View Landing, and a new space for POWER. We look forward to working together to successfully build a modern, spacious facility and creating a welcoming working environment for the POWER team.
