IDAHO FALLS, ID -- (September 13, 2021) – Regional Economic Development for Eastern Idaho (REDI) today announced plans to host their “What’s Up in Eastern Idaho!” Annual Conference on October 29, 2021.  Due to the recent increase of COVID-19 cases, the Annual Conference will be held virtually.  REDI’s CEO, Teresa McKnight, announced this year’s Conference will focus on the “Power of Place”, a new regional marketing strategy developed by REDI.

“As the lead regional economic development organization for Southeast and East Idaho, REDI will take a deep dive into the exciting changes shaping Eastern Idaho and its future.  This year’s conference will focus on Eastern Idaho as the “Power of Place for Advanced Manufacturing, Agriculture, Banking & Finance, Energy, Healthcare, Information Technology (Cybersecurity), and Outdoor Products”.  The Conference will feature National Subject Matter Experts, Regional Guest Speakers, Business Leaders, and Economic Professionals presenting thought provoking ideas, best practices, and discussions on changes shaping Eastern Idaho’s future,” states Teresa McKnight, CEO of REDI.

“Regional economic development – and regional collaboration – are critical to the health and wellbeing of our regional economy.  Not one community can fill the checklist of businesses seeking new site locations and not one community can fill the workforce requirements of existing businesses”, states Teresa McKnight, CEO of REDI.  McKnight goes on to say, “REDI has been instrumental in pulling business, industry, government, civic and community leaders together to not only support and learn from one another but listen to advice from experts in order to work collaboratively to build Eastern Idaho’s future.”
