Idaho’s Mexico Trade Office will be conducting a Doing Business in Mexico Webinar on Thursday, July 30th, from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. MDT. Any interested Idaho company is welcome to attend. Topics that will be covered during the presentation include: current economic environment in Mexico, Mexican economy, travel, worldwide economics, monetary policies, and COVID-19 update, market and consumer trends, USMCA introductory overview, how it differs from NAFTA and what this might look like for Idaho companies and upcoming events and opportunities.

In the coming months, the Southwest Idaho Manufacturers' Alliance (SWIMA) will convert to a statewide organization and become the Idaho Manufacturing Alliance (IMA) with a new statewide manufacturing database and additional benefits members.

In the economic development world, site visits are an integral part of the site selection process. However, COVID continues to change the way businesses make relocation decisions. Virtual site visits are expected to become the norm and now is the time to prepare.

Idaho Broadband Grants Update

 


The Idaho Broadband Grant application period closed Wednesday, July 15, 2020. More than 130 applications were received for more than $80 million in projects across Idaho.

The Idaho Broadband Grant will fund broadband projects that create and retain local jobs, improve telehealth capabilities, public safety resiliency, access to local government services, and increase the number of households that have access to broadband throughout Idaho.

Governor Brad Little has appointed a committee to review and make recommendations on Idaho Broadband Grants to Idaho Commerce. Learn more about the Committee members here.
