ISU Nuclear Engineering Professor to Serve as Fulbright Specialist in the Philippines
An Idaho State University faculty member is being recognized on an international stage through a new Fulbright appointment.
The ISU nuclear engineering professor Fulbright Specialist article highlights Professor Mary Lou Dunzik-Gougar, who has been selected to serve as a Fulbright Specialist in the Philippines. In this role, she will work with the Commission on Higher Education and Batangas State University to help develop a roadmap for advancing nuclear education, research, and policy aligned with global safety and sustainability standards.
During her six-week assignment, she will collaborate with local institutions to assess the current educational landscape, identify gaps, and support the development of nuclear-related academic programs. Her work will also include presentations and engagement with industry and academic stakeholders to support broader understanding of nuclear energy systems.
The appointment also highlights Idaho State University’s growing role in advancing energy systems education and supporting international collaboration in the nuclear field.
