82 Idaho students named U.S. Presidential Scholars candidates

Eighty‑two high school students from across Idaho have been named candidates for the prestigious U.S. Presidential Scholars Program, a national recognition of academic, artistic, and career‑technical excellence by the U.S. Department of Education. Final winners — typically a small number selected from thousands of nominees nationwide — will be announced this summer.

These candidates represent a wide range of schools and backgrounds from every corner of the state, demonstrating outstanding achievement and dedication in their studies. Being named a candidate for this honor highlights the hard work of Idaho’s students and the strength of our education system in preparing young leaders for future success.

At REDI, we celebrate milestones that reflect the talent and potential emerging from Eastern Idaho. When local students are recognized on a national stage, it signals a strong future workforce, reinforces the value of educational opportunity in our region, and inspires others to aim high.

This recognition aligns with our theme of "You Belong in Eastern Idaho!" because it shows that students here are not just participating in national conversations — they are helping to lead them.
