Mayor Marc Carroll was elected on December 5 2017, and took office on January 2, 2018. He retired from the INL in January 2011, after a career of almost 35 years. Thirty of those years were spent in a variety of professional manager assignments. Marc believes strongly in volunteering time to community betterment, including 35 years spent in coaching refereeing and administering youth soccer programs in Blackfoot and conducting soccer coaching courses in five western states. He was on the Executive Board of United Way of Southeastern Idaho for six years and chair of the Community Investment Committee for three years. Just prior to the election, Marc was on City of Blackfoot’s Transportation Commission for 12 years, 7 of which he served as chairman. Marc and his wife Marilynn have been married for 50 years; their 3 daughters and families all live in Blackfoot.
